Rajashree Match Works operates a fully automated wooden safety match manufacturing facility designed for high-volume, repeatable output. Our production systems are built to support consistent quality, stable supply, and long-term manufacturing programs rather than short-term or irregular production.

With a daily production capacity of 2.5 million matchboxes, our facility is equipped to serve:

Our process

01.

Splint Manufacturing

Splint manufacturing forms the foundation of our production process. Selected quality wood is processed into uniform splints with controlled dimensions, moisture levels, and surface finish to ensure strength, consistency, and suitability for ignition.

02.

Splint Drying & Conditioning

Manufactured splints are carefully dried and conditioned to achieve the required moisture balance. This step improves durability, reduces warping, and ensures stable performance during subsequent chemical application and ignition.

03.

Chemical Head Preparation

Match head compounds are prepared under controlled conditions using approved formulations. Strict process controls are maintained to ensure uniform composition, consistency, and safe handling throughout this stage.

04.

Match Head Dipping

Conditioned splints are dipped into the prepared match head composition using controlled and repeatable methods. This ensures uniform head formation, consistent ignition characteristics, and reliable flame behavior.

05.

Head Drying & Stabilization

After dipping, the match heads are dried under monitored conditions to stabilize the chemical coating. Proper drying ensures strong adhesion, consistent ignition, and safe handling during packing and use.

06.

Quality Inspection

Quality checks are integrated throughout production. Samples are verified for head formation, ignition performance, burn consistency, and dimensional accuracy to ensure compliance with approved specifications.

07.

Box Filling & Packing

Finished matches are filled into boxes using controlled packing systems. Packing formats, quantities, and labeling are maintained as per customer and export requirements.

08.

Final Verification & Dispatch

Packed matchboxes undergo final inspection before dispatch. Verified consignments are prepared for domestic distribution or export shipment, ensuring consistency, traceability, and reliable delivery.

Specification Control

Production is executed against approved and locked specifications to ensure consistency and control. Specifications are finalised for each order, repeat orders follow the same approved parameters, and customisation is managed within defined limits. This approach ensures predictable outcomes across batches and supports long-term, reliable supply programs.

Quality Integration

Quality checks are integrated into daily production activities to ensure consistent performance and reliability. Verification is carried out at defined stages through sample-based checks for ignition and packing, with continuous monitoring of repeatability across batches. Quality is managed as an integral part of operations rather than as a separate function.

Export Readiness

The production setup is designed to support export supply through export-grade packing formats and carton configurations optimised for efficient container loading. With dispatch experience via Tuticorin and Chennai ports, the facility ensures smooth and reliable handling of export consignments.
